William K. Pierce, CFA
Chief Portfolio Manager
William Pierce is the Chief Portfolio Manager for the AFL-CIO Housing Investment Trust. He is responsible for the overall management and investment strategy of the Trust’s portfolio, including portfolio construction, sector allocation, security selection, relative value analysis, risk management, and ongoing surveillance of portfolio holdings. In addition, Mr. Pierce serves as a member of the Investment and Portfolio Management Committees.
Prior to joining the HIT, Mr. Pierce was a portfolio manager for Capital One’s fixed income portfolio in Tysons, Virginia, where he focused primarily on Residential and Commercial Mortgage-Backed Securities and U.S. Treasuries. He was responsible for strategy implementation, security selection, and trade execution for Capital One’s approximately $10 billion Agency CMBS portfolio. Earlier in his career, Mr. Pierce worked in interest rate derivative sales at Credit Suisse.
Mr. Pierce holds the CFA Institute’s Chartered Financial Analyst® designation. He graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Accounting and a minor in Mathematics.
