Vito V. Mundo Attorney

Vito V. Mundo is the former General Counsel of the Joint Industry Board of the Electrical Industry (the “JIB”), a position in which he served from 1997 until his retirement in 2022. The JIB is a joint labor/management organization, located in New York City, that, among other things, administers fifteen employee benefit plans with assets in excess of $13 billion. In addition to his executive leadership role, Mr. Mundo was responsible for legal oversight of all of the JIB’s ERISA plans, review of investments (including real estate and investment contracts) and benefits, as well as JIB corporate governance. As General Counsel, Mr. Mundo also was responsible for negotiating the JIB’s collective bargaining agreement with its 250 unionized employees. Since his retirement in 2022, Mr. Mundo has served as a consultant to the JIB.

 

Prior to his employment with the JIB, Mr. Mundo was associated with the law firm of Donald Menagh, where he began his career in 1981 after graduating from St. John’s University School of Law in Queens, New York. While at the firm, Mr. Mundo maintained a robust general practice, with emphasis on representing the JIB and labor unions.

 

Currently, and in addition to his consulting work for the JIB, Mr. Mundo serves as President of The Club at Crystal Lake in Fort Myers, Florida (since 2020) and Vice President of HarborView Estates (since 2019). Each is a condominium HOA, where his service includes, among other things, contributing to organizational governance, budgeting and strategic planning.
