West End Place Construction Time-Lapse Video (1997)

The HIT provided $12 million in financing for construction of West End Place, a $32 million mixed-income limited equity cooperative in one of Boston’s oldest neighborhoods, the historic West End. The 183-unit project was developed, in part, to provide affordable housing and homeownership opportunities to former West End residents who were displaced during the city’s urban renewal efforts in the 1950s. Work on the project created an estimated 230 union jobs. The developer, Lowell Square Associates, made this time-lapse video of the construction.
